Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a field-oriented engineer to support OSP network design and field survey data processing. You will compile site information, create accurate network layouts, and assist in producing CAD drawings and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Experience in fiber network planning.
• Experience with GIS and fiber route design when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field survey data to inform design decisions.
• Compile site information for OSP network design, including topography, utilities, and obstacles.
• Document field conditions and perform site evaluations to support design and construction planning.
• Use GPS and mapping tools to record data and create network layouts.
• Assist in developing designs for OSP infrastructure (aerial and underground fiber).
• Prepare splice MOPs and ensure accurate data is recorded in IQGeo.
• Create construction drawings, splice MOPs, and route maps using CAD and GIS tools.
• Prepare bill of materials and construction documents under supervision of senior designers.
• Assist in preparing CAD drawings for OSP construction permits to local authorities.
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards (e.g., NESC, NEC).
• Stay informed of regulatory changes that could impact designs or project planning.
• Assist in resolving engineering/design-related problems during project execution.
• Ensure all documentation is loaded into the project.
