Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Fiber Designer for a local utility under its Operational Communications division. The role focuses on planning, designing, and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure, with emphasis on documentation, splice planning, and GIS updates.

You will collaborate with Network Engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver detailed designs and ensure reliable network performance across projects in the Atlanta area. Strong fiber design software experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience using fiber design software for network design.
• Familiarity with OSP fiber from design or construction perspective.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber design functions including planning, building, and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure.
• Develop, document, and apply fiber design guidelines and standards in an economical, sound manner.
• Maintain and update documentation for fiber optic networks, including inside and outside plants.
• Create and document splice plans for construction projects and update GIS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design for optimal network performance.
