Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated is offering a summer internship in its R&D team at Bridgewater. The Functional Fiber Research Intern will explore fiber structure–function relationships, benchmark native fibers against commercial ingredients, and evaluate processing/modification approaches for food applications.

The role involves literature searches, lab experiments, data analysis, and reporting findings to the project team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field with lab experience.
• Familiarity with chemistry/biochemistry lab safety and protocols.
• Experience with experimental design, quantitative data analysis, and interpreting structure–function relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presentations and reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature and patent searches and summarize findings for the project team.
• Perform laboratory experiments, analyze data, and recommend next steps.
• Record data in ELN and archive databases, share results with partners.
• Present research findings with recommendations for future projects.
