Job summary

Nexans is seeking a Fibre Technician to join the Telecom and Operations team in our Subsea Telecom & Special Cables unit. You will work on practical fibre optic cable assembly, termination, testing and repair, contributing to both production and project execution at factory and field locations.

The role involves collaboration with engineering, project teams and clients, and may require onshore and offshore assignments. Fluent English and willingness to travel are expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience with fibre optic cables and systems.
  • Practical experience with fibre splicing, termination and testing is an advantage.
  • Technical education or relevant experience in fibre optics, telecom, electrical or mechanical.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical procedures and documentation.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly, termination and integration of fibre optics as per Nexans procedures.
  • Carry out fibre splicing, measurements and testing of cables and systems.
  • Assist with FAT measurements during project execution and with clients when required.
  • Prepare, plan, and set up equipment for assembly and testing activities.
  • Contribute to safety, quality documentation and reporting in Nexans quality systems.
  • Support training workshops and contribute to procedures improvement.
