Job summary

National Center for Urban Solutions is seeking a Fiber Optics Instructor to deliver hands-on and classroom-based training using the Light Brigade Fiber Optics 1-2-3 curriculum. The role prepares students for careers in telecommunications, broadband infrastructure, data centers, and network construction through installation, fusion splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years fiber optics or network infra industry experience.
• Teaching or workforce development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on and classroom instruction in fiber optics.
• Facilitate lab training with fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters.
• Prepare students for Light Brigade certifications and other credentials.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain lab records.
• Develop lesson plans and assessments via Canvas.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts.
