Job summary

Pillar Innovations, LLC is hiring an Aerial Construction Technician II – Fiber Optics to string and maintain fiber lines, troubleshoot overhead networks, and support cable installations. You’ll handle pole transfers, lash work, and equipment mounting, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency in communications and power spaces.

The role requires climbing, working at heights, and mentoring teammates, with a focus on quality workmanship, documentation, and crew leadership on field projects.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of fiber optics experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License is required; CDL B is a plus.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; safety training.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform work in communication spaces.
• Qualify to work safely in energized spaces.
• Participate in pole climbing and use basic hand tools.
• Inspect, mobilize, and operate a bucket truck from the cab.
• Record sequential foot marks and assist with framing poles.
• Pull cable, strand, fiber, and lash for extended periods.
• Provide wiring hardware and assist with flagging and safety duties.
• Monitor tensions and oversee reel deployment of strand and fiber.
• Lead projects or crews and mentor less experienced coworkers.
• Read and interpret design packages; complete T&M documentation.
