Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Technical Trainer to design and deliver training that helps employees understand, install, maintain, and support fiber optic technologies. You will translate complex fiber equipment, systems, and processes into clear, hands-on learning experiences for new hires and existing employees.

This role will also take part in quality assurance to ensure that all installations are completed to the highest standard.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or a dedicated technical training role.
• Working knowledge of fiber optic technology, installation practices, equipment, and field operations.
• Ability to develop and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on technical training.
• Strong public speaking, active listening, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
• Experience using an LMS to manage training records and learner progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructor-led workshops, virtual classes, and hands-on lab sessions for new hires and existing employees.
• Create training manuals, digital learning modules, job aids, guides, and practical assessments.
• Use a Learning Management System (LMS) to track learner progress, assessment results, completion records, and feedback.
• Update courses and resources to reflect telecom advancements, software updates, equipment changes, and applicable safety standards.
• Answer technical questions and provide individual coaching or performance remediation when needed.
• Gather learner feedback and review assessment results to improve training content and delivery.
• Collaborate with technical leaders and subject matter experts to validate training accuracy and align instruction with operational needs.
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure installations are completed according to Socket Fiber’s standards.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
