Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a knowledgeable Technical Trainer to translate complex fiber equipment, systems, and processes into clear, hands-on learning experiences for new hires and existing staff. You will develop and deliver training that helps employees install, maintain, and support fiber optic technologies.

In this role, you’ll lead workshops and virtual sessions, create manuals and digital modules, and track progress in our LMS.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or a dedicated technical training role.
• Working knowledge of fiber optic technology, installation practices, equipment, and field operations.
• Ability to develop and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on technical training.
• Strong public speaking, active listening, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Experience using an LMS to manage training records and learner progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructor-led workshops, virtual classes, and hands-on lab sessions for new hires and existing employees
• Create training manuals, digital learning modules, job aids, guides, and practical assessments
• Use a Learning Management System (LMS) to track learner progress, assessment results, completion records, and feedback
• Update courses and resources to reflect telecom advancements, software updates, equipment changes, and applicable safety standards
• Answer technical questions and provide individual coaching or performance remediation when needed
• Gather learner feedback and review assessment results to improve training content and delivery
• Collaborate with technical leaders and subject matter experts to validate training accuracy and align instruction with operational needs
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure installations are completed according to Socket Fiber’s standards
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance
