Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Test Technician for our Kings Park, NY site. This hands-on role requires strong fiber optic and electronic testing, troubleshooting, and quality-control skills with 3+ years of experience.

The position offers a first shift from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM and a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 per year. Responsibilities include testing assemblies, reading schematics, documenting results, and collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fiber optic and electronic testing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Proven ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience with test equipment and instrumentation in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot fiber optic assemblies, cables, connectors, and electronic assemblies.
• Perform optical and electrical testing using appropriate test equipment and instrumentation.
• Diagnose failures and identify root causes of fiber optic and electronic issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Perform continuity, signal, power, and functional testing of electronic assemblies.
• Perform fiber optic testing, including optical loss and related performance measurements.
• Inspect fiber optic terminations, connectors, splices, and assemblies for quality and workmanship.
• Set up and operate test fixtures, meters, optical power meters, light sources, and other lab/test equipment.
• Document test results, defects, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions accurately.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with developing and improving test procedures and troubleshooting processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test environment.
