Job summary

Conexon is seeking a Field Technician in Lee's Summit, MO to install, maintain and repair FTTX broadband and voice services for residential and commercial customers. You will install cabling, document inventory, and coordinate with field staff to ensure timely service restoration and proper inventory levels.

The role requires a high school diploma, proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office, the ability to operate a company vehicle, and physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds and climb

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and strong communication skills.
• Experience with optical test equipment such as fusion splicers and OTDRs is required.
• Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to climb poles up to 25 feet and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Overtime may be required and travel is within the Lee's Summit area.

Responsibilities

• Install FTTX broadband service for residential and commercial customers.
• Restore customer services after trouble tickets are dispatched.
• Perform interior and exterior fiber and Ethernet cabling work.
• Document inventory assignments in the inventory system.
• Track progress of feeder construction and coordinate with field personnel.
• Maintain inventory levels and reconcile records.
• Update equipment documentation associated with customers.

Installs, maintains, and repairs customer FTTX broadband and voice services. Completes quality control functions for other installation technicians in the assigned area. Responsible for maintaining inventory between technicians and warehouses throughout the territory. Typicaly installs aerial and/or buried service drop cabling, ONTs, network interface devices (NID), and performs wiring for new or existing FTTX broadband, voice, and Special Circuit subscriber services.

Requirements

• Highschool diploma required
• P.C. and Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities and Duties

• Installing FTTX broadband service to residential and commercial customers
• Assures customer services are restored after trouble ticket dispatch
• Completing both interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category ethernet cables
• Documenting assignment of inventory within inventory system
• Track progress of feeder construction
• Communicate with field personnel to assure inventory levels are sufficient
• Reconciling inventory
• Updating equipment associated with customers
• Documenting process and procedure
• Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis
• Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to X pounds
• Ability to bend stoop kneel Crouch or reach as required by job tasks etc.
