Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking a Level II Technician, Splicing to perform mid-level fiber optic splicing on aerial, underground, and ISP projects nationwide. The role requires 1–5 years of splicing experience, OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Candidates should be proficient in reading prints/drawings, splice matrices, and equipment needs assessment.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience performing fiber optic cable splicing projects.
• OSHA 10 certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs mid-level splicing for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.
• Reads construction prints, drawings, and splice matrices to meet customer requirements.
• Determines equipment needs and cable routing; performs splicing within safety guidelines on live sites.
• Independently performs mid-sheath cable entry using proper tools.
• Performs mid-level single and/or ribbon splices with large cable counts.
• Reads test results and troubleshoots issues identified during testing.
• Installs and researches splice enclosure procedures.
