Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician for immediate full-time work in our Minneapolis area. You will terminate, splice, document and test fiber optic lines within customer networks, with travel as needed. Five years’ experience and EXFO fiber equipment experience preferred.

Candidates should read blueprints, operate fiber tools, and adhere to safety standards. CWDM/DWDM experience and technical degree are preferred; EPS offers competitive pay and growth

Qualifications

• Five years of fiber splicing and testing experience required.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites.
• Experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred.
• Associates or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light sources, and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bond/ground and test fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Install fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Read blueprints and work scopes with accuracy.
• Adhere to all safety standards.
