Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in splicing communications lines.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Splice fiber optic and copper lines according to job plans.
• Follow safety rules and use all tools properly.
• Interpret specs and diagrams; insulate joints and apply cable sheathing.
• Barricade on highways; use warning signs and flagging procedures as needed.
• Complete tailboards, service orders, accident and interruption reports.
• Keep supervisor informed about assignments and hazards; suggest revisions.
• Inspect and maintain trucks and equipment daily.
• Respond to duty calls day or night, seven days a week.
• Perform all duties for crew to meet deadlines; take on additional tasks.
