Job summary

Rocky Mountain Contractors, Inc. in Montana seeks a skilled line splicer responsible for repairing and installing overhead and underground communication lines. You will work in overhead spaces and underground environments, following safety rules and company policies.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of splicing experience. Willingness to obtain CDL Class A, DOT medical card, and First Aid/ CPR is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 5 years experience in splicing communication lines.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class A.
• Willingness to obtain DOT Medical Exam card.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurately splices communication lines (fiber optic and copper).
• Follow safety rules and use tools per regulations.
• Interpret specs/diagrams to connect lines; insulate joints.
• Barricade highways/rights-of-way as required.
• Complete Tailboards, Service Orders, Accident Reports, etc.
• Maintain communication with supervisor about assignments and hazards.
• Inspect trucks and equipment daily.
• Respond to duty calls day or night to restore service.
• Perform duties for all crew positions as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
