Job summary

IdeaTek is seeking a Construction Quality Control Technician to ensure high-quality construction of our fiber network. You will perform pre- and post-construction site visits across Kansas, update plant drawings, and generate QC checklists and reports.

Work will be hybrid with Wichita preference and occasional travel to project sites. Candidates should have 2+ years in field construction, know excavation practices, and be comfortable driving and lifting up to 75 lbs in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years field construction, construction management, or installation experience.
• General knowledge of construction excavation and required equipment.
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office and/or Google).
• Valid Driver's License and ability to drive to project sites.
• Willingness to stay out of town overnight occasionally to perform QC Checks.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Visit telecommunications project sites pre- and post-construction to update plant drawings.
• Confirm contractors follow quality construction methods/specifications.
• Prepare project QC checklists/reports and take project photos.
• Maintain positive relations with contractors and notify of changes.
• Coordinate with Construction Project Management & Outside Plant teams to keep drawings accurate.
