Job summary

Lumos Fiber in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking Service Operations Technicians to install, test, and maintain home and business services and equipment. You’ll set up fiber facilities, perform testing, and troubleshoot GPON/PON, routers, switches, and CPE.

This role involves on-site customer work and collaboration with our SOC to ensure seamless connectivity. Join a fast-growing 100% fiber network, with opportunities to develop skills and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience interacting directly with customers to troubleshoot issues.
• Proficient in network cabling and basic electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment at multiple sites.
• Conduct OTDR traces and fiber characterization.
• Install and troubleshoot voice, data, video services, and CPE (Residential Gateways, Routers).
• Update trouble tickets, orders, and timesheets.
• Serve as SME for RSB CO, Remote, DLC, COLO equipment.
• Support engineering projects including GPON cards and ONT upgrades.
• Assist Network Operations with troubleshooting and hardware issues.
