Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Laborer/Groundman to support aerial and underground construction projects. This role emphasizes safety, hands-on work, and teamwork to build reliable fiber and RF infrastructure.

You will perform trenching, material handling, conduit placement, and equipment operation under supervision, with opportunities to learn fiber blowing and map-reading skills while advancing in a safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day.
• You have a track record of quality workmanship.
• Able to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
• Experience with overhead construction for RF and Fiber.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks such as digging trenches and unloading materials.
• Assist fiber blowing operations for cable installation.
• Conduit placement on construction sites under supervision.
• Read maps and follow design schematics for builds.
• Learn and operate equipment safely; climb poles when trained.
• Support with trenching, material movement, and vehicle relocation.
• Adhere to prescribed safety procedures and PPE usage.
