Job summary

NOVOS FiBER is seeking an experienced I&R Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot residential fiber optic systems. You will perform FTTH installations, splicing, and testing to ensure optimal customer connectivity.

Primary duties include on-site fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating with customers. Applicants should be able to work outdoors in varied weather, climb ladders, and handle physical tasks. Training and on-call shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
• Background check required prior to employment.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in FTTH cabling and installation.
• Knowledge of fiber optic splicing, testing tools, and industry standards.
• Willigness to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables to ensure optimal network performance.
• Install FTTH products including ONTs, Wireless Gateways, and Wireless Network Extenders.
• Troubleshoot and identify signal degradation, fiber cuts, or equipment failures within customers' homes and Outside plant.
• Utilize telecommunication tools such as light meters, fusion splicers, OTDR and other tools to complete installations and repairs.
• Provide field support for OSP network, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Supports with customer escalations including Advanced installations, troubleshooting and damage claims.
• Provide on-site support for commissioning network equipment, troubleshooting/clearing alarms, and resolving transport connectivity issues
• Shared after hours and weekend on-call shifts required
• Other duties as assigned.
