Job summary

gFiber is expanding its Field Operations and seeks a Field Services Center Technician II in Austin, TX. You will support dispatch and technical operations for installing and repairing residential and small business services, including outside plant work, and use Salesforce Field Service Lightning, OFSC, and GIS tools to diagnose issues from the central office to customer premises.

The role requires 3 years in FTTH/GPON/XGS fiber deployments, experience managing contractors and vendors, GIS

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in FTTH/GPON/XGS network construction or large scale fiber deployments.
• 3 years experience managing relationships with contractors and vendors.
• 3 years experience in GIS or equivalent mapping systems.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including nights and weekends.
• Experience with field services dispatch in telecom or similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex issues by troubleshooting residential and small business services.
• Coordinate multiple repair and maintenance resources for Outside Plant on concurrent incidents.
• Coordinate install fulfillment dispatch including route optimization and calls from technicians.
• Install/test Ethernet jacks, make cross connects in telecom spaces, and work with fiber optic cables.
• Navigate complex customer interactions with professional service and adherence to policies.
• Be proficient with computers and company entry policies.
