Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking an experienced Low-Voltage Fiber & Data Technician to drive our store rollout projects nationwide.

You will perform fiber fusion splicing, copper cabling, IDF terminations, and network device installations across multiple sites with day and night shifts and extended travel. The role requires reading blueprints, collaborating with general contractors, and maintaining safety while meeting project timelines.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and CCTV.
• Strong ability to read and execute blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willing to travel up to 12 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Large-Scale Cabling Deployments: pull and route copper cables and fiber cabling for new stores.
• Advanced Fiber Splicing & Testing: perform fusion splicing for multi-mode and single-mode.
• Site Infrastructure Setup: install IDFs in ceiling spaces.
• Device & Network Installations: mount switches, WAPs, VoIP phones, PCs and printers.
• Relocation: relocate existing copper infrastructure during remodels.
• Site Coordination: work with GCs and other trades on-site.
• Post-Installation Validation: conduct wireless surveys and cable tests.
• Documentation: document test results for management and clients.
• Aerial Work: operate lifts up to 40+ feet.
