Job summary

TDS Telecom seeks a Fiber Construction Technician in Delavan, WI, performing outdoor plant labor for PON/fiber networks. Training will cover CDL in-house, pole climbing, bucket trucks, and fusion splicing. Some positions may offer relocation assistance.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining buried and aerial fiber, using tools, equipment, and safety practices, and supporting field services. Physical work and overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Six months+ experience in customer service, electrical or utility construction, or technical certification.
• Must follow attendance guidelines and be DOT-eligible.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL; training available post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor in varying weather with safety as priority.
• Transport equipment to/from the worksite and place new aerial/buried fiber per maps and marks.
• Use hand tools, locators, test equipment; install enclosures; climb structures as needed.
• Document work, assist field service technicians, and support maintenance.
