Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an engineer to design and implement fiber connectivity for AWS data centers. You will collaborate with vendors, develop standards, and drive reliable network infrastructure across global sites.

You will work on structured cabling, validation of fiber deployments, and documentation management to ensure scalable growth and high availability. This role requires strong collaboration and problem-solving across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of data center experience or cabling infrastructure knowledge.
• 2+ years of experience developing test requirements and scripts for fiber validation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to develop and evaluate new fiber optical solutions and implementation plans.
• Design and specify structured cabling systems for network layers at hyperscale data centers.
• Develop standards, reference designs, and installation guidelines for physical cabling deployments.
• Focus on ambiguous problems in network architecture and deliver impactful projects.
• Manage fiber vendors and contractors; perform quality control of fiber bundles and structured cabling systems.
• Conduct site inspections to validate as-built conditions and ensure compliance.
• Monitor network health and remediate issues to improve link performance.
• Maintain documentation, drawings, and asset records for fiber components.
