Job summary

Shentel is seeking a Field Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed Internet, phone, and digital video services for residential and commercial customers across Oregon. You will work in customers' homes and businesses across Oregon, applying your training to deliver reliable service with safety in mind.

Expect hands-on work with fiber, HFC, and associated wiring, plus useful online tools. A valid driver's license, strong communication skills, and 3–5 years of fiber experience

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of experience with HFC and/or fiber to the premises installation.
• Able to demonstrate basic PC/tablet skills using email and web browsers.
• Must also be competent in HFC theory, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs Internet, phone and digital video services for homes or businesses.
• Installs and maintains cabling (fiber, coax, Ethernet) to support services.
• Configures customer premise equipment for video, phone and Internet.
• Supports field operations with safety compliance and on-call rotation.
• Works in various environments including attics and outdoors, driving across territories.
