Job summary

Shentel is seeking a Fiber Technician I to maintain and expand its fiber optic network. The role is field-based, requiring readiness for varied weather, travel within service area, and strong safety practices.

You will perform basic fiber preparation, fusion splicing, installation and repair from the POP to customer premises, with focus on quality and professional communication with customers and contractors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required for the role.
• 1 years of Construction experience is Preferred.
• 1 years of Field Network/Installation/Maintenance experience is Preferred.
• 1 years of Telecommunications experience is Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand Shentel's fiber optic network.
• Perform basic fiber preparation, splicing, installation and repair from the POP to the customer premise.
• Test and certify fiber under supervision.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and company personnel.
