Job summary

Shentel in Ashland, VA seeks a Technician Broadband II for Glo Fiber. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain internet, video, and phone services for residential and business customers using fiber and coax networks.

Requires 3–5 years of HFC/fiber installation experience, valid driver’s license, and basic PC/tablet skills (email/web). The role includes on-call rotation and occasional weekend work; a drug-free workplace with EEO compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years of experience with HFC and/or fiber to the premise installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Clear communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Able to operate basic PC/tablet applications like email and web browsers.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs Internet, phone and digital video services for residential and business locations.
• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs wiring/cabling and hardware to support services (fiber, coax, Ethernet).
• Configures and troubleshoots customer premise equipment for video, phone and Internet services.
• Maintains and replaces coaxial cables, fiber optic and copper lines within customer premises.
• Supports system maintenance by addressing network plan conditions.
• Assists with on-call rotation and occasional weekend work as required.
