PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Business ESL Program Administrator provides day-to-day leadership and administration for Festa Business ESL (opens in new tab). The role combines adult ESL instructional expertise and experience with strong program administration to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for students, instructors and corporate partners.

The coordinator manages program systems, teacher schedules, curriculum resources, assessment practices, instructor support and reporting. This position is well suited for an experienced adult ESL educator who is highly organized and detail oriented, comfortable coaching others, and motivated to strengthen and expand an innovative English program that takes place in the for profit work environment.

The successful candidate is passionate about adult education and language acquisition, highly organized, and focused on execution. They balance classroom instruction with administrative responsibilities, approach challenges as a systems thinker, and lead with encouragement, accountability, and professionalism. Adaptability and dependability are essential, particularly when unexpected staffing or program needs arise.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Operations and Administration
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance data, assessment results and required program documentation, personalized for each corporate client.
  • Coordinate instructor schedules, classroom assignments, program logistics, and coverage needs.
  • Establish and maintain organized systems for curriculum, instructional materials, and program resources.
  • Monitor timely completion of instructor attendance, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare semester and program end reports summarizing student progress, assessment results and program outcomes.
  • Fill in as an ESL instructor substitute when needed onsite.
Instruction, Curriculum, and Assessment
  • Serve as the primary substitute instructor when scheduled teachers are unavailable.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend adult ESL curricula and instructional resources appropriate for workplace learners.
  • Organize, update, and maintain accessible instructional materials for instructors.
  • Standardize placement, pre-assessment, and post-assessment procedures across Business ESL classes.
  • Review assessment data for accuracy and use results to recommend instructional and program improvements.
Instructor Leadership and Development
  • Supervise and support part-time Business ESL instructors through regular communication, coaching, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure instructors understand and consistently follow program expectations, instructional standards, and documentation procedures.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard and train instructors.
  • Develop practical training materials and provide ongoing support that helps volunteer instructors become confident and effective classroom teachers.
Program Quality and Growth
  • Conduct site visits periodically throughout the class season to support client, instructors and students.
  • Document policies, procedures, and best practices to support program consistency, continuity and sustainability.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve instructional quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership on new initiatives and strategies that strengthen student and program outcomes.
  • Support the responsible growth of a scalable, consistent, and well-documented Business ESL program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Experience teaching adult English as a Second Language (ESL).
    Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with careful attention to detail.
  • Experience creating and maintaining organized systems and documentation.
  • Ability to coach, support and collaborate with other educators.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace.
Preferred
  • TESOL, TEFL or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring teachers.
  • Experience administering ESL assessments and placement testing.
  • Experience developing curriculum or adapting instructional materials.
  • Experience working with adult learners in workplace or community education settings.
  • Experience training volunteers or facilitating professional development.
