Qualifications

Nitricity is a startup addressing one of the most significant climate change contributors, and we seek your help. We are innovating in an essential chemical industry that supports global food systems. The bedrock of modern agriculture is the production, distribution, and application of the vital nutrients found in fertilizers. However, nitrogen fertilizer is currently made in coal- and gas-fired facilities located hundreds to thousands of miles away from farmers who need it. The $120B industry is responsible for as much as 6% of global CO2eq emissions. Nitricity Inc. has developed a new technology that produces fertilizer using air, water, and renewable electricity (e.g., solar). Growers will have access to a more reliable, low-cost, and environmentally friendly fertilizer supply. We are actively growing our team to help us realize this vision.

Position Description

Nitricity seeks a Fertilizer Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of fertilizer manufacturing, ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves managing production staff, optimizing processes, and coordinating with business development and engineering teams to meet production goals. The position is for our plant in Delhi, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent focus on fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring safety awareness within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of fertilizer production, including raw material sourcing, blending, packaging, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement production plans to ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Maintain strict quality control and safety standards in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Supervise, train, and lead production staff, ensuring company policies and best practices are adhered to.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to prevent downtime.
  • Prepares and controls department budgets in conjunction with the Management and Accounting departments
  • Work with procurement to meet the demand plans and ensure an adequate supply of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & R&D teams for process improvements and new product development.
  • Track and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and adherence to sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fertilizer production or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in production management software and data analysis tools.
  • OSHA Hazwoper Preferred
  • PSM Training Preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Compensation And Benefits

  • $140,000/yr-$160,000/yr
