Job Description

RANGE: $143,850 - $187,750

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for managing all manufacturing at the Fernando’s Plant, including maintenance, sanitation, and shipping and receiving to meet or exceed company goals and standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Participate in the total planning process, including capital requirements, budgeting, and manpower development for future growth.
  • Establish direction and targets for the Fernando’s Plant by developing short-term and long-term goals for production needs and monitor cost and quality systems to ensure profit margins.
  • Apply leadership to develop personnel and systems that will make/keep the manufacturing operation an industry leader in cost and quality; support engineering for expansions and new methods.
  • Ensure employee safety programs are aligned with company goals and values.
  • Support the Technical Department and Engineering in product development, quality assurance, engineering systems, and equipment for future growth.
  • Develop new products and processes in conjunction with Marketing and USDA compliance with SSOP and HACCP programs.
  • Maintain reliable workforce and positive union relations, ensuring a harassment-free work environment.
Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. in Business Management or related field.
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the food processing industry, preferably in frozen food/ready-to-eat facilities.
  • Financial understanding including budgeting, staffing, and cost analysis.
  • Proven record of promoting a safe work environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and internal drive to succeed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate supervision and employee issues fairly and objectively.
  • Ability to manage and adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational programs.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
