Job summary

Sumitomo Biorational in Osage, IA is seeking a Production Operator to operate fermentation equipment and related systems, including media preparation, sterilization, centrifugation, and filtration, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires working the 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and meeting production targets, with emphasis on adherence to ISO9001 standards, proper documentation, and ability to work in extreme temperatures and wear a full-face respirator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prefer a 2-year technical degree or related experience.
• Must be able to use computerized interfaces.
• Must be able to obtain an industrial truck license (valid driver’s license).

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment in a fermentation process (media prep, fermenters, sterilizers, centrifuges, evaporators, separators, filtration).
• Follow safety and environmental training policies and programs.
• Adjust equipment to maximize process capabilities with guidance.
• Monitor and adjust critical equipment via a computerized operator interface.
