Job summary

EisnerAmper seeks a Senior Consultant – FEMA in our Government Services Practice in Raleigh, NC. You will support FEMA-funded programs (PA/IA/Hazard Mitigation/IIJA) ensuring compliance, audit readiness and accurate financial management, including time and cost tracking, closeouts, and deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in state/local disaster recovery programs, knowledge of FEMA regulations, and a Bachelor's in a related field.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in state and/or local disaster recovery programs administering FEMA funds.
• Knowledge of FEMA disaster programs, including related statutes, regulations, and policies and processes, and compliance and/or financial management functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Safety, Emergency Management, Disaster Management, or related field.
• Certifications such as CEM, AEM, PgMP, or PMP are preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in maintaining compliance with FEMA regulations and 2 CFR 200.
• Assist with expediting complex closeout of multiple open disasters.
• Support client financial management and accounting functions, including time and cost unit operations, and cost tracking and reconciliation.
• Use knowledge and experience to help determine method of program implementation.
• Ensure timely and accurate development of all client deliverables.
• Engage in business development activities including responding to proposals and reviewing funding opportunities.
• May be required to occasionally work extended hours, or travel to/work from different firm offices and/or client locations.
