Job summary

The New York Academy of Sciences is seeking a Program Manager for Fellowships & Professional Learning to oversee the Leon Levy Fellowships in Neuroscience and related programs. This role involves coordinating day-to-day activities, onboarding fellows, and delivering professional development opportunities for STEM professionals.

You will collaborate with mentors, speakers, and funders, manage records and reporting, and help grow the Academy's fellowships portfolio within a flexible hybrid

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, or closely related field preferred; MA/MSc with relevant experience will be considered.
• 2–3 years of program management, fellowships, or related nonprofit experience.
• Experience working with scientists, researchers, fellows, or STEM professionals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate multiple programs, activities, and deadlines across departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Leon Levy Fellowships in Neuroscience program, including onboarding, schedules, seminars, mentorship, and reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for fellows and participants, communicating requirements and opportunities.
• Coordinate fellowship applications, reviews, materials, meetings, and tracking decisions.
• Plan and deliver professional learning programs for STEM professionals, including workshops and courses.
• Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person programs, including registration and materials.
• Support development of new fellowship and professional learning initiatives with the Associate Director.
• Maintain program records, milestones, and funder reporting.
• Provide operational support for Academy awards and related events as needed.
