Job summary

Heartland Co-op is seeking a Feed Sales Specialist to provide product recommendations, evaluate animal performance, and assist in manufacturing of feed products. You will deliver products, place orders, and support the sales team with promotions across assigned territories.

Applicants should have an AA or BA in agriculture or related field, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or Bachelor's Degree in an agricultural related field.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence; present information to groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide feed product recommendations for customer needs.
• Evaluate animal performance; assist in manufacturing of feed products.
• Deliver feed products to customers in a timely manner.
• Work with sales team to evaluate products for market.
• Assist customers with loading of product; place orders and bill customers.
• Promote specials and promotions to retail locations.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety; encourage repeat sales.
• Make sales calls to determine feed needs and build relationships.
• Stay current on feed products, trends, and market challenges.
• Communicate marketing programs and resources to sell agronomy products ethically.
