Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Operator to tend, operate, and oversee diverse mill areas to assure quality, productivity and safety. You will handle batching, pelleting, and loadout, while following established procedures.

Responsibilities include recording reports, managing inventories, and maintaining equipment. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to environmental and quality programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with others.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard procedures across mill areas and maintain records.
• Operate equipment including grinders, tools, and fork lift.
• Prepare shift activity and production reports and reconcile data.
• Regulate material flow to meet product specifications.
• Perform daily feed, bulk and micro-ingredient inventories.
• Maintain cleanliness and support teammates in other areas.
• Ensure safety of employees and assets and comply with EMS/IPS policies.
• Report environmental issues and participate in continuous improvement.
