Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Rose Hill, NC is seeking a Feed Mill Operator 1 to support receiving, batching, production floor and loadout activities within the mill.

You will follow procedures to assure quality, safety and productivity while gaining exposure to multiple mill areas. Candidates must read English, be able to work about 50 hours weekly including nights and weekends, and operate equipment such as grinders and forklifts with proper training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Willingness to work about 50 hours per week, including nights, holidays and weekends.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating instructions/procedures in all operator areas.
• Operates equipment and tools (computer, grinders, forklift) in all areas.
• Prepares and maintains shift activity and production reports.
• Regulates flow of materials to meet product specs.
• Performs daily feed, bulk and micro-ingredient inventory and housekeeping duties.
