Job summary

The Equity in Effingham, Illinois, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Horace Feed Mill to ensure safe, reliable operation of the facility. You will repair and maintain mill equipment, support preventive maintenance, and manage projects requiring internal or external maintenance resources.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, can troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, and communicate effectively with management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Ability to troubleshoot advanced mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues.
• Background in mill production or agriculture is preferred.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management.
• Has a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills.

Horace - Feed Mill Maintenance Technician

In the Feed Mill Maintenance Technician role, you are responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Horace Feed Mill. The role ensures all personnel, safety, Safe Feed/Safe Food, quality standards, and GMP requirements are followed while maintaining and repairing mill equipment and facilities. Responsibilities also include managing larger repair projects, supporting preventive maintenance efforts, maintaining knowledge of computer‑controlled processes, and participating in ongoing training as directed by the Feed Department and Safety Director.

Salary

$20-$28 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment

While performing daily duties the employee will be working near moving mechanical equipment, in outside weather conditions, and may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally works in high precarious places. Peak seasonal periods require extended hours. Must be available for emergency breakdowns (nights, weekends, and holidays).

Travel

The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Effingham Equity trade area.
