Job summary

Kaizen Labs is seeking a senior compliance leader to stand up and run a dedicated federal compliance function. You will work with the engineering lead, security engineer, and executive team to ensure authorization pipelines and ongoing security evidence flow across multiple agencies.

You will own the end-to-end POA&M, run NIST 800-171 self-assessments, manage contract paperwork, and maintain the obligation mapping with FAR/DFARS considerations. NYC/DC presence expected.

Qualifications

• Direct experience submitting in federal portals, SPRS and PIEE specifically.
• Has run a NIST 800-171 self‑assessment or RMF package end to end.
• Has computed a SPRS score and can explain the mechanics.
• Hands-on with NIST 800‑53 Rev 5 inside a real SSP.
• Current on FedRAMP and fluent in 20x certifications.
• Can read a contract for FAR and DFARS flowdowns and track obligations.

Responsibilities

• Own the POA&M end to end: keep it current, submit it to our hosting partner, ensure signed items are accurate.
• Run NIST 800-171 self-assessment workbooks to completion and drive remediation in priority order.
• Manage all federal contract and agency paperwork: forms, registrations, and security questionnaires.
• Track live contractual SLAs and prove compliance through reviews and affirmations.
• Own the obligation register and map FAR/DFARS flowdowns across policies and training.
• Attend new federal contracts and flag issues before signature.
• Build control-to-evidence mappings so controls are quickly verifiable.
• Own personnel security operations: US person verification, background checks, and access reviews.
• Lead FCL readiness: vendor selection, clearances sequencing, and FSO pathway.
