Job summary

Kaizen Labs in New York City is standing up a dedicated compliance function to support federal contracts across civilian and defense agencies. This role is hands‑on production work, building the register, calendar, submissions, and the evidence trail to ensure an auditable, compliant program.

You will own the operations side: track control implementation status, the inherited-versus-owned split, POA&M currency, continuous monitoring, and the machine‑readable package.

Qualifications

• Direct experience submitting in federal portals, SPRS and PIEE.
• Has run a NIST 800-171 self-assessment or RMF package end to end.
• Has computed a SPRS score and can explain the mechanics.
• Hands-on with NIST 800-53 Rev 5 inside a real SSP.
• Current on FedRAMP as it exists in 2026, fluent in 20x.
• Knows where Rev 5 binds; understands high/low baselines.
• Reads FAR and DFARS flowdowns and tracks obligations.
• Background in federal or defense contracting, agency-side.
• Comfortable being the only compliance person on an engagement.
• US person, eligible for a Tier 3 background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the SPRS package and the FCL readiness materials.
• Coordinate the company officer sign-off and inform CISO process owners.
• Maintain the evidence flow and status tracking for compliance artifacts.
• Read contracts for FAR/DFARS flowdowns and map obligations to actions.
• Oversee control implementation status and the inherited vs owned split.
• Ensure continuous monitoring and timely POA&M updates.
• Collaborate with a vCISO for guidance and engineering for execution.
