VOLTO Consulting is seeking a FedOps-focused DevOps engineer to manage and support cloud-based platforms in a highly regulated environment. You will drive automation modernization, ensure reliability, and collaborate across development, security, and operations to meet governance standards.

Proficiency in AAP, ServiceNow integrations, and incident management is required. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, automation troubleshooting, and data-driven improvements to accelerate delivery

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of infrastructure, application workflows, and incident management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support event-driven automation with FedOps across ServiceNow, Polycloud, and enterprise platforms.
  • Build and optimize automation workflows using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
  • Develop reusable playbooks for alert remediation and self-healing.
  • Integrate automation with enterprise systems (ServiceNow, APIs).
  • Support onboarding of apps/use cases into FedOps aligning with standards.
  • Troubleshoot automation failures to ensure reliability and resiliency.

Job description

FedOps candidate should possess strong experience in managing and supporting cloud-based and enterprise platforms within highly regulated environments, with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance. The role requires proficiency in DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and monitoring, along with hands‑on expertise in troubleshooting, incident response, and system optimization to ensure high availability and performance. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating across development, security, and operations teams to streamline software delivery while adhering to governance standards typical of federal environments. Strong AAP playbook skillset, problem‑solving skills, operational mindset, and the ability to continuously improve processes through automation and data‑driven insights are essential. The knowledge of HPOO and HPSA are a plus in this role but not absolutely required.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support event‑driven automation leveraging the FedOps framework across ServiceNow, Polycloud, and enterprise platforms
  • Build, maintain, and optimize automation workflows using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
  • Develop reusable, scalable playbooks for alert remediation, self‑healing, and operational workflows
  • Integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems (ServiceNow, APIs, infrastructure platforms)
  • Support onboarding of applications/use cases into FedOps and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures, ensuring reliability and operational resiliency
Required Skills (Must‑Have)

Strong, hands‑on expertise in Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) including:

  • Playbook development and optimization
  • Job templates and workflow templates
  • RBAC and secure execution models
  • Integration with external systems (ServiceNow, APIs, etc.)

Solid scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting)

Experience with event‑driven automation and operational tooling

Strong understanding of infrastructure, application workflows, and incident management processes

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

Experience with legacy automation/orchestration platforms such as:

  • HP Operations Orchestration (HPOO)
  • HP Server Automation (HPSA)

Familiarity with migration/modernization efforts from legacy platforms to AAP or other modern orchestration tools [RE: Midyea...lishments. | Outlook]

Exposure to enterprise automation ecosystems (e.g., SSP, AutoSys, ServiceNow integrations)
