Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled LVC Systems Engineer to support live, virtual, and constructive training across Navy/Marine Corps platforms. You will ensure interoperability, calibrate federations, and lead engineering teams during exercises.

Responsibilities include DIS/HLA protocol implementation, federation configuration, real-time troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Requires Security+ and active US Secret clearance with relevant experience and leadership ability.

Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and Windows operating systems
  • Technical leadership ability, including assigning engineers from appropriate engineering domains during LVC training events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification required
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related discipline plus 6 to 8 years related experience
  • Preferred: Knowledge of HLA and DIS distributed simulation protocols
  • Preferred: Familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP networking concepts, architectures, and protocols
  • Preferred: Experience with MS Visio for technical architecture drawings
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS
  • Preferred: Experience working with Navy and/or Marine Corps systems and/or commands
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
  • Lifting and moving materials may be required

Responsibilities

  • Support operational testing, development, and integration of Navy and Marine Corps live, virtual, and constructive training systems
  • Ensure LVC training systems are compatible, interoperable, and meet USMC and Fleet training needs
  • Maintain operational readiness of the LVC federation, including calibration and synchronization for training exercises
  • Plan federation scalability and integrate additional capabilities without disrupting operations
  • Implement and manage DIS and HLA protocols for standardized data exchange and interoperability
  • Stand up and configure HLA federations for training exercises
  • Monitor federation performance and troubleshoot and optimize in real time
  • Manage and synchronize enumerations across simulation platforms against the master class list
  • Assess simulation-system compatibility with DIS and HLA protocols
  • Coordinate system updates and upgrades to maintain protocol compatibility
  • Conduct integration testing across federation systems
  • Diagnose and resolve DIS- and HLA-related technical issues
  • Provide real-time technical support during LVC training exercises
  • Perform root-cause analysis, document findings, and implement long-term solutions
