Job description

Federal Work Study (FWS) positions are federally funded, part-time positions open to eligible enrolled Ivy Tech students only. These positions are generally located on campus but may also be located off campus. Positions are available primarily for general office/clerical, maintenance, laboratory support, and educational support. Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.

All positions will require positive customer service skills. Some positions may also require clerical, computing, telephone, and filing skills. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities that will be explained during the interview process with a detailed job description for that role provided. Duties will vary based upon positions that are available.

Federal Work-Study positions are part-time positions filled each semester and are available to current Ivy Tech students.

The Student Fundraising Associate will be an integral member of the Foundation team and will work closely with Foundation Office staff and regional and campus development officers. The associate’s primary responsibilities will include assisting with donor relations and stewardship, data maintenance and prospect research, fundraising events, on-campus fundraising initiatives, and the development of a Student Philanthropy Club. The associate will also serve as a student ambassador for the Foundation.

Duties and Responsibilities
DONOR RELATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP
  • Conduct weekly thank-you and follow-up phone calls to donors.
  • Using existing templates, write thank-you notes to donors.
  • Assist with creating unique and personalized gifts, communications, and projects for donors and top prospects.
STUDENT PHILANTHROPY AND CAMPUS FUNDRAISING
  • Assist with the development and coordination of a Student Philanthropy Club.
  • Help recruit and engage students in the club’s activities and initiatives.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of on-campus fundraising initiatives and events.
  • Educate fellow students about the impact of philanthropy and the role donors play in supporting Ivy Tech students.
  • Serve as a student ambassador for the Foundation at campus and community events.
DATA MAINTENANCE AND PROSPECT RESEARCH
  • Use the Foundation’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to record donor interactions, update contact information, and enter event attendance.
  • Conduct research on alumni, donors, and prospective supporters using the CRM and other approved resources.

General Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing an education at Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Ability to work professionally in both independent and team settings.
  • Ability to build and steward campus, regional, and statewide relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to engage with students, donors, and community partners.
  • Relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Federal Work-Study Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a current FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.
  • Must maintain enrollment in at least one credit hour of eligible coursework.
  • Must maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status.
  • Must not have any incomplete financial aid requirements.
