FEDERAL TAX ASSOCIATE
Position Description

At RSM, associates work with companies of various sizes across different industries. They develop strong relationships with clients by understanding their businesses and challenges. Associates engage in multiple team projects throughout the year, working on various parts of assignments in a respectful team environment that supports both their professional and personal growth.

Responsibilities include:
  • Working on teams focused on diverse tax areas such as income taxes, corporate taxation, federal credits and incentives, individual taxation, mergers and acquisitions, pass-through entities, private client services, and non-profit organizations.
  • Completing tax planning and research.
  • Preparing federal and state/local tax returns.
  • Understanding tax regulations and accounting standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university, accounting major preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations; reliable transportation required.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Progress toward CPA certification; opportunity to fulfill audit hours for certification.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
