Job summary

SkillStorm seeks a Federal Sales Representative to generate new business and expand relationships across federal agencies and FSIs. The role involves positioning SkillStorm’s Techforce by Design and upskilling solutions to address hard-to-fill contract positions and workforce readiness gaps, from initial conversation to signed contract.

This remote position is located in the Washington, DC metro area, requiring strong knowledge of federal contracting and the ability to manage a full sales cycle

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in federal sales, selling solutions to federal agencies or FSIs.
• Understanding of the federal contracting landscape (vehicles, primes/subcontractors, teaming, capture).
• Ability to discuss technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Pega, Appian, SAP, and cybersecurity.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active security clearance, or ability to obtain one, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify, and close new business with FSIs and federal agencies while meeting targets.
• Identify opportunities to staff hard-to-fill positions with SkillStorm tech teams.
• Collaborate with Solutions, Recruiting, Training, and Delivery to scope client requirements and build proposals.
• Build relationships with program managers, capture leads, and contracting decision makers; represent SkillStorm at industry events.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in the CRM.
• Track agency priorities, market trends, and competitor activity to sharpen the sales approach.
• Align with Core Values in daily work.

Federal Sales Representative

The Role

As our Federal Sales Representative, you will generate new business and expand existing relationships across federal agencies and federal systems integrators (FSIs). You will position SkillStorm's Techforce by Design and custom upskilling solutions as the answer to hard‑to‑fill contract positions, revenue leakage, and workforce readiness gaps and own the pipeline from first conversation to signed contract. This role is a remote position located in Washington, DC metro area.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prospect, qualify, and close new business with FSIs and federal agencies while meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets
• Identify opportunities where SkillStorm tech teams help primes staff hard‑to‑fill positions, protect contract performance, and support new contract wins
• Partner with our Solutions, Recruiting, Training, and Delivery teams to scope client requirements (skills, certifications, clearance levels) and build compelling proposals
• Build relationships with program managers, capture leads, and technical and contracting decision makers, and represent SkillStorm at federal industry events
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in our CRM
• Track agency priorities, market trends, and competitor activity to sharpen your sales approach

Key Competencies:

• Prospecting, Consultative Selling, Territory Planning & Pipeline Management are at the core
• Strong networking skills, with an established network in the federal market and the drive to keep growing it
• Proven track record of meeting quota and adding net new logos
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the confidence to present to senior business and IT leaders
• Ability to translate a client's workforce and delivery challenges into a clear, value‑based solution
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• An active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is a plus
