Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in government, community engagement, policy, and/or communications; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in federal government, congressional affairs, public policy, government relations, higher education, communications, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of federal legislative processes, including congressional offices and federal agencies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for varied audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suites.
  • Experience coordinating and planning meetings, events, conferences, or other engagements.
  • Hybrid work arrangement in Tempe, AZ with supervisor approval.
  • Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Office of Government and Community Engagement.
  • Monitor, research, and analyze federal legislative, regulatory, and policy developments; provide updates to the Federal Relations team and leadership.
  • Synthesize and produce collateral (one-pagers, presentations, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, academic units and internal partners to advance federal priorities.
  • Represent ASU at congressional briefings, hearings, association meetings, conferences, and external engagements; provide summaries to the Federal Relations team.
  • Assist in planning and executing meetings, events, conferences, and other engagements, including logistics and communications.
