Job summary

EdgeConneX, a global data center provider, is seeking a Director, Federal Public Policy & Legislative Affairs to lead public policy strategy for data center development, power access, and AI infrastructure across the U.S.

Based in Washington, DC or Herndon, VA, you will manage regulatory engagement, build coalitions with industry groups, and coordinate with Real Estate, Energy Procurement, Engineering, and Legal teams to advance the company’s objectives.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in government relations focused on energy policy.
• Strong understanding of utility regulation and electricity markets.
• Law degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Energy Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex issues for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute policy strategies aligning with data center priorities and power access.
• Monitor federal legislation affecting data center development and operations.
• Engage with lawmakers and regulators; represent company before agencies.
• Build coalitions with trade associations to advocate data center interests.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align policy with operations.
• Prepare policy briefs, talking points, and testimony for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with lobbying laws and filing disclosures.
• Support state policy and manage outside counsel.
• Manage outside advisors.
