Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Charlotte, NC seeks a Federal Process Engineer to plan, develop, and execute process engineering tasks across industrial, manufacturing, energy, life sciences, and advanced technology projects for federal clients.

You will develop process designs, evaluate existing systems, support improvements, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressively responsible process engineering experience.
• Experience with federal clients or major defense contractors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve production, manufacturing, utility, chemical, and industrial processes for safety and efficiency.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, heat/material balances, and process narratives.
• Perform mass/energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing.
