Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Honolulu seeks a Federal Engineering Manager to lead technical teams across DoD/Navy projects in the power sector. You will partner with a PM on scope, schedule and budget while guiding engineers, performing quality reviews and ensuring world-class deliverables.

Preferred candidates have a PE license, strong communication and team leadership, and a willingness to work in-office 4–5 days a week. The role offers comprehensive benefits and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with Electrical emphasis; PE license or license reciprocity needed.
• Minimum 10 years in electrical building design (lighting, power, systems) with life-safety and BMS.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills; active team participant.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project execution plans for the technical scope.
• Lead and mentor Project Engineers, EITs and CAD designers.
• Provide technical guidance and assign project tasks.
• Support scope, schedule, and budget with risk assessment and change management.
• Perform quality checks per HDR QMS and review deliverables.
• Coordinate multi-location teams and pursue training to deepen expertise.
