Job summary

Americans for Prosperity in Washington, DC is seeking a Federal Lobbyist (internal title: Federal Legislative Liaison) to advocate AFP’s positions on economics, energy, AI and emerging technology. You will build relationships with congressional offices, coalitions, trade associations, and think tanks, advancing AFP’s priorities on Capitol Hill.

Ideal candidates have a few years in government affairs, Capitol Hill, or advocacy.

Qualifications

• This role is ideal for a motivated government affairs professional with a few years of Capitol Hill, state legislative, or advocacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with congressional staff and agencies to advance AFP’s legislative priorities.
• Conduct meetings with congressional offices to advocate for AFP’s positions.
• Monitor, research, and analyze federal legislative developments and track pending legislation.
• Draft and update position papers, fact sheets, talking points, letters, and briefing materials.
• Provide liaison and resource support to members of Congress, coalition partners, volunteers, and activists.
• Coordinate with policy, communications, legal, and research teams to align advocacy with organizational priorities.
