Job summary

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is seeking a Federal Lobbyist (internal title: Federal Legislative Liaison) to advocate AFP positions in Washington, D.C., reporting to the Director of Federal Affairs. You will focus on federal legislative advocacy in economics, energy, AI, and emerging technology, building relationships with congressional offices and coalition partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in federal legislative advocacy or government affairs.
• Strong ability to build relationships with congressional staff and offices.
• Ability to draft position papers, fact sheets, talking points, and briefing materials.
• Experience coordinating with policy, communications, and research teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with congressional staff, members of Congress, and federal agency contacts to advance AFP's legislative priorities on economics, energy, AI, and emerging tech.
• Conduct meetings with congressional offices to advocate AFP's positions under guidance from the Director of Federal Affairs.
• Monitor and analyze federal legislative developments and track pending legislation.
• Draft and update position papers, fact sheets, talking points, letters, and briefing materials.
• Provide liaison support to members of Congress, coalition partners, volunteers, and activists.
• Support testimony preparation, comment letters, and presentations for senior team members.
• Collaborate with policy teams to share Hill intelligence and inform policy initiatives.
