Job summary

Americans for Prosperity (AFP), part of the Stand Together philanthropic community, seeks a Federal Lobbyist (internal title: Federal Legislative Liaison) to advocate AFP positions in Washington, D.C. You will work with the Director of Federal Affairs to advance AFP’s economic, energy, and AI priorities.

You will engage congressional offices, coalitions, and think tanks, building trusted Hill relationships and guiding advocacy efforts to expand economic opportunity through free markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in government affairs or lobbying preferred.
• Ability to build relationships with congressional staff and agencies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to monitor and analyze federal policy developments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with congressional staff and agencies to advance AFP priorities.
• Conduct meetings with congressional offices to advocate for AFP positions under guidance.
• Monitor federal legislative developments and track pending legislation.
• Draft and update position papers, fact sheets, and briefing materials.
• Support testimony, letters, and presentations for senior team members.
• Coordinate with policy, communications, legal, and research teams to align advocacy.
