Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist for the Federal Systems team in Rockville, MD. You will manage weekly/biweekly payroll for about 850 employees, focusing on prevailing wage rules and certified payroll reporting.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, processing timesheets, and reconciling payroll accounts while supporting process improvements and new projects within JCFS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll processing.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws including prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with timekeeping and payroll systems (Deltek, ADP, etc.).
• Experience with 401K, taxes, and GL reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly/biweekly payroll for ~850 employees.
• Ensure compliance with Davis Bacon Act and Service Contract Act requirements.
• Prepare and review certified payroll reports and submissions.
• Reconcile payroll general ledger and payroll journal entries.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on prevailing wage rules and documentation.
• Support process improvements and system implementations.
• Maintain employee setups and changes, and process deductions.
